Apricot oil or apricot kernel oil is produced by pressing the kernels of apricots. These kernels contain around 40-50% oil, which is similar to the oils extracted from almond and peach kernels.

In addition, the residual seed cake can be utilized to extract a volatile oil containing amygdalin, a colorless crystalline glucoside.

The primary constituents of apricot oil are oleic acid and linoleic acid, both of which are unsaturated fats. Palmitic acid, palmitoleic acid, and stearic acid are present in smaller quantities.
